Warning

Very important note: Firmware version ZSLPF has a bug, with the potential to damage your SD card and brick your Galaxy Note if you wipe data, do a factory reset, or reformat partitions from recovery. So, to protect your device DO NOT wipe data, perform a factory reset, or reformat partitions from recovery after installing the ZSLPF firmware.

Instructions

  1. Extract the contents of Odin 1.85.zip to any folder on your computer. It is recommended to extract it to the desktop where you can easily find it.
  2. Extract the TAR file from CF-Root-SGN_ZS_OZS_LPF-v5.3-CWM5.zip to your computer.
  3. Turn off your phone and make sure that it is not connected to your computer.
  4. Boot your Galaxy Note into Download Mode by holding down the Volume Down button,  Home button, and Power button. When you see a “Warning!” message on the screen, press the Volume Up key to enter Download Mode.
  5. Run Odin by double-clicking on Odin3 v1.85.exe.
  6. Click the PDA Tab on Odin and select the CF-Root-SGN_ZS_OZS_LPF-v5.3-CWM5.tar file.
  7. Connect your Galaxy Note to your computer and you should see an “Added!” message indicating that the device is recognized.  If you do not see an “Added!” message, reinstall the drivers or check that USB debugging is enabled.
  8. Click START to start flashing the kernel and wait for it to finish.
  9. Once the flashing is done, your device will automatically reboot. You will get a “PASS” message indicating that the flashing is successful.  However, if you get a “FAIL” message, disconnect the phone from the computer, close Odin, remove your phone’s battery, re-insert the battery, and start over from step 3.
  10. REMINDER: Again, never wipe data, perform a factory reset, or reformat partitions from within recovery to avoid bricking your phone while it’s on firmware ZSLPF.
Great! You have successfully rooted your Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 running Android 4.0.3 ICS firmware build ZSLPF.
